FASHION MODEL OF THE YEAR
VALENTINA BELI
Valentina Beli is one of successful models from the Republic of Belarus and has made a dizzying career in the fashion world. Her real last name is Belianka – which means “White Butterfly” in Belarusian. But the bookers were complaining that it was too long to remember, so it was necessary to shorten it to Beli. Originally Valentina is from the Republic of Belarus, but she has Polish and Ukrainian descent. Model’s great-grandmother was Polish noble and was married with a peasant to avoid the arrest from Bolshevik government. Her father is from Ukraine; and according her mum’s Valentina has his features of face.
Because of remarkable cheekbones Valentina has been compared many times with Dree Hemingway, Natasha Poly, Gwyneth Paltrow and Reese Witherspoon. Nowadays it’s actually very classy and the casting managers find it even pretty, but while Valentina worked in China, it was quite difficult to convince Chinese customers because of differences in preferences - they found beautiful only girls with oval thin face. And girls with my strong faces like Valentina were not “good enough” to work for commercial projects, for e-shop Taobao for example. But unlike in China, there were great campaigns projects in Beijing for whom the model’s parameters worked perfectly.
The modeling career of Valentina started by chance when the Miss of Belarus Kate Litvinova “cached” her on the street. After short interview she invited her to work for a campaign for Polish/German brand TIFFI.
For now Valetina is working as a model for more than 5 years. She has contracts with Esee agency in China, Fame in Indonesia, Metropolitan in Paris, Fashion in Milan, MMG in Dubai, Faze in Berlin. Now she is more concentrated on the USA market, has signed contracts with EMG from New York and now it is the city model lives in. During career Valentina has many fashion shoots for Kenzo, Tory Burch, Mango, Swarovski, Omega, Mikael Aghal, Armadio, Hanianewyork, Free People, Ross and Simons, Samsung, Matrix, Kevin Murphy and other well knowing brands. She took a part in fashion shows for Chanel, Gucci, BCBG, Burberry, Raoul, Reed Krakoff, Karl Lagerfeld, etc. (Asia and Europe) and has many editorials printed in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Trend Prive, Vulkan, VGXW, Her World, Female magazine etc. Valentina won the 1st Prize in the International Supermodel Contest in China in 2013. Now she is the judge for the TOP MODEL OF BELARUS and the SUPER FACE KIDS RUSSIA.
