TINA PITCHER-JOHNSON
MARCH - 2016
PINUP MODEL OF THE MONTH
OWEGO, NEW YORK
I am so honored for this opportunity to share my story!
My name is Tina Pitcher-Johnson, I am 44 and a mother of five children, married to my husband Johnny for 20 years. I was raised in a small farm town in Pennsylvania, but settled in life just across the border of New York, in a small historical town.
A chance meeting in 2013 with photographer, Ronald Evens, began my amazing journey in modeling, and pin up. Together we had the same focus and that was to change the mindset of the masses to what pin up was and could be.
A long time lover of history and the time and people it honored, I was determind to put a new face to pin up emerging vintage, classy, paying homage to the time and people we were representing. Almost bringing people back to a time and place were we and our country once were.
Not long into my journey with Ron, he realized I had a much bigger message to share, and with his help, and many others I began to not only emerge as a model, but a voice for people surviving and battling chronic diseases.
15 years ago I was diagnosed with MS, with a bleak future predicted ahead of me. It changed my life forever, soon I became a shell of the person I once was becoming someone who was just existing, not living. I spent two years in a wheel chair, and began to lose more and more of the person I once was.
6 years into the battle I decided this can't be all life has for me, with shear determination and an overwhelming support of family and friends, I began to break out of the chains the disease had me bound in.
I was determined to live life to the fullest, whatever that looked like. Embracing the new and overwhelmingly surprising opportunities that crossed my path, modeling being one of those journeys I could not have predicted if I tried.
I am so honored to be nominated as March Pin Up Model of the month. March also happens to be MS Awareness month, so if I can use this wonderful opportunity to share my story and inspire someone else to break those chains of a disease, and truly embrace living their life to the fullest, then all this has been worth every second.
Please enjoy a collection of my favorite photos, and debuting today, my imagery photo shoot depicting my battle and walk with MS. Thank you, and remember, find a way to Live Happy beyond your circumstances......
