The LadyBoys of Bangkok 2016
THE LADY BOYS OF BANGKOK – FOREVER YOURS – THE 2016 TOUR
With a gesture like no other the Lady Boys of Bangkok declare a somewhat ‘Immortal beloved’ vow to the people of Belfast as they prepare to return to Custom House Square this November with their newest performance “Forever Yours”.
This year’s brand new production is a show like no other; performed by some of Thailand’s most energetic, exotic, eclectic and completely unpredictable show girls. It promises to be a night of pure escapism that will release audiences from the humdrum of everyday life as the Sabi Pavilion will once again become a euphoric bubble of laughter, glamour, glitz and music.
With more songs and musical production numbers than you could shake a sequined hip to – this is one cabaret production that is quite simply too good to miss. The entertainment is fast and unrelenting and with an eclectic mix of music from the likes of global superstars Katy Perry and Rhianna to West End musical hits from Sister Act, and other much loved theatrical performances, audiences are sure to be on their feet in what promises to be a night to remember!
The stage will burst into life as sixteen of Thailand’s most stunning Lady Boys wow in specially created and hand-sewn lavish costumes featuring feathers, sequins and a flair of flamboyance as their tour returns to the UK for its record breaking nineteenth year. With two fully licensed bars and a resident chef always on hand to delight the audience’s taste buds with some authentic Thai cuisine, audiences will be transported to the Ladyboys’ very own oriental world.
Speaking of this year’s show Creative Director Phillip Gandey said a huge amount of time and effort went into breaking down the traditional boundaries between the stage and audience so that everyone will feel involved. “The essence of cabaret is to include the audience and as the Lady Boys of Bangkok is very much part of the cabaret genre, we’ve gone to great lengths to ensure our theatre production stays true to that concept”.
One of the principal artistes, Sonia (Mr Uten Pengsa Ard) The Dance Captain of the Lady Boys of Bangkok said: “We all love appearing in the UK and Ireland as it gives us the opportunity to bring our show to parts of the country that we might not otherwise be able to reach. The audiences in Belfast always make us feel so welcome and we love to return year after year. So Belfast just remember that although the show may only last a night the memories will be ‘Forever Yours…’”
