SOPHIA LEAP
AUGUST - 2015 - MODEL OF THE MONTH
SOPHIA LEAP - NEW YORK CITY
Sophia Leap, born in Atlantic County, New Jersey on June 24, 1999. As a young child she enjoyed being on softball teams, learning to play the piano, and painting/drawing.
By the time Sophia was eight years old, she knew fashion would be at the forefront of her life. Either modeling or designing, Sophia was committed to making the fashion industry a part of her life in some way shape or form.
As an incoming Junior in high school, Sophia is enrolled in Advanced Placement classes and Honor classes. She maintains a 4.1 GPA.
Sophia is also on the Track team throwing the javelin.
Sophia reached the height of 5'10" by the time she was 15 which was the summer of 2014. Being tall she knew either she needed to become a basketball player or a high fashion model. Knowing sports are not her strong point, modeling was her choice.
In August of 2014 Sophia and her family were attending her grandfather's birthday party. A new designer, Lainy Gold, came to do a photo shoot on his yacht for her first collection, Nautical By Nature. As Sophia's mom and Lainy Gold were talking, she mentioned one of her models didn't show. So in true 'model mom' Fashion she showed Lainy, Sophia Leap. Lainy put Sophia immediately into a outfit and she became part of the Lainy gold shoot and part of her house model team. Hence, her modeling career began.
Being a part of the Lainy Gold team, Sophia had doors opened to begin her modeling career. In September 2014, her 1st & 2nd runway walks were in the Atlantic City Fashion Week (Lainy Gold Designs). Followed quickly in February of 2015 by Couture Fashion Week (Lainy Gold Designs) in NYC, Mercedes Benz - Art Hearts Fashion Show (Mimi Tran) and a bridal show and hair design for Sena Moussad and Eli Esper.
Since last summer she has continued with her studies and has been afforded the opportunity to be photographed in many designers' clothing & makeup artists.
Sophia looks forward to this New York's fashion season with walks in Fashion Gallery (New York Fashion Week) and Couture Fashion Week. Then going to LA Fashion Week and Paris.
