Shalhavit Simcha Cohen

Shalhavit Simcha Cohen is her name, and is Hebrew for “Blazing Happiness”.
Leading Professors from all around the world are now sending Shalhavit their lecture videos, on different topics of balance and well being, which she tries to repackage into a new fun format: a documentary television series.
“I am an artist… of life” She says, sitting on a bench at Harvard University’s campus. “Yes, I want to help people tune in and learn who they are, what they love, and how can they lead the best life – because we can. Life can be so beautiful and we can help each other. Honestly, there is so much research out there like studies following happily married couples, research on perspective and mindfulness… I can’t even begin to tell you.”
Passionate about her biggest project: repackaging leading research on well-being into a “Funtastic” Television Documentary series, she follows research on motivation, self esteem, and success in the workplace, happy marriages and more.
She just won first place as “Miss Fitness Israel 2011”, she got an offer from Gucci and Adidas, and she appears at many places on stage, yet all of this according to her is “mainly to grab media exposure for my project, I do love attention but not without the message I carry so passionately”
Model, Actress, Producer, A well rounded woman, and… an extremely passionate educator
“life is a journey to loving ourselves, to finding our balance in our head: Our relationship with how we see reality, others, and most of all… how we see ourselves in all this mess”. On her business card in the back are the words ‘I love you, person reading this’ and it truly reflects her personality: she is kind, open, authentic “sometimes I share too much about how I feel, but openness is often a predictor for attraction, I can tell you about the study..” and her personality shines, you cannot miss her when she enters the room.
Harvard University is her current home base, as she travels the world and her personal life, mostly connecting with leading psychologists in the field of positive emotions and different research covering positive aspects of human behavior. Harvard lead the most popular class “positive psychology” in this class the students got to hear about all the research out there such as Motivation, Self Esteem, another example is a study which followed the most successful graduates of Harvard – asking what made those individuals thrive more than others.
“All we have is our feelings and thoughts at the moment. We shape those feelings with goals, friends, stories, imaginations and education – I want to help people learn how to balance their life, using demonstrated tools from research that has been done on these fields but does not reach the public… who reads every day magazines such as ‘Personality and Social Psychology’? I am making a fun documentary series that follows this research, so that way the viewer enjoys the informational part and then has the option of taking these tools te heart. Research on how to change habits, what really works for people… the idea is to find essentially what works for you”.
Leading a very colorful life: wearing her buttefly wings [for real!] she lectures at colleges providing research about motivation, self esteem, and career advice “finding your calling in life” Harvard, Tufts, Baruch, are just her baby steps. Now she is on her passionate mission: She has the biggest network of leading researchers in the field of “Positive Psychology”, those professors study subjects such as Motivation, Self Esteem, Emotional Intelligence – and she is repackaging the essential information into a fun and interactive Television Show.
Her goal is to make those extremely helpful studies that is fun and attractive to the viewer. She has already met with MTV, signed and cancelled with Oprah’s channel, and has contacts all over. Her mentor is another Harvard graduate: Cynthia Fenneman the president of American Public Television. “I’ve met so many good willed people on the way, professionals and celebrities who have been so kind to give me advice and send me to the right people”
“I try to follow the studies and internalize what I can. You should always be aware that in the world of research there is a range for those statistics, a bell curve, and this means that there are still people who are not the statistic and that are why I try and tune in. You should always see what works for you – because at the end of the day, like I said, no one else will tell you how you feel or how you truly think and you are the one responsible of how you feel with yourself. The world of research is super helpful but never forget to listen to your heart and find what works for you”.
The show is now under the title “Un Miserable” and you can find their facebook page, or contact her on facebook. Google her name since there is only one. Currently she is working on the pilot with a professional production group. She is also seeking funding and partnerships. “I am good in what I do but we all share different talents, we need each other. If we partner with an experiences producer, or have more money to pay my crew, it will be even better. I have no doubt that it will only get greater because I will never stop. This is my dream and passion.”
