Manila International Fashion Week is pleased to announce its celebration of fashion, film and faces event. This year’s theme, “FASHION FOR ALL”, will explore the current state of the fashion industry’s continuing challenges after a hiatus due to the world wide pandemic.
Highlighting the first Manila Fashion Film Competition in the Philippines. Fashion filmmakers from around the world are also joining. Our aim is to combine arts of fashion and film. This is an opportunity for the young filmmakers to showcase their talent in different ways, like films about fashion brands, fashion short films and documentaries. Our purpose is to connect the people behind the fashion and film industry.
This event will be supported by beauty queens, icons, celebrities, personalities from different industries.
Highlights of the events during Manila International Fashion Week are the following:
CATWALK PHILIPPINES, a modeling competition in partnership with Sir George Salon is now again ready to stage its 3rd batch of runway superstars.
JOANNA MARIE X CATWALK Philippines
Joana Marie is the Founder & CEO of I Am Funtabulous by Joana Marie and the newly inducted fashion designer by the Designers Circle Philippines, a 200-member group of seasoned and upcoming fashion designers in the country. She is also the CEO and co-owner of Laurus Enterprises, an events company in the Philippines that organizes internationally-recognized seminars and training related to personal growth and professional development.
Joana Marie is bursting with loving energy and her enthusiasm for life is highly contagious. Being well-acquainted with organizing events related to self-growth & professional development, she’s determined in her mission to inspire & empower others to recognize and embrace their own funtabulousness and she’s dedicated to sparking hope and joy one cloth at a time...this time.
YOUNG FACES TO WATCH
Young Faces to Watch is presented by GANAP International Magazine and Young Faces Magazine. The search for Young Faces aims to launch and find young and fresh faces in the fashion, modelling and entertainment industry. We want to train and empower the youth and boost their confidence, to be the voice and the epitome of the new generation. We want to guide them, mold their skills, enhance their creativity and be the best version of themself as a role model to the youth and in the community.
Manila International Fashion Week is scheduled on October 14-28, 2022. The bridal fashion show and Exhibit on October 14-16 at SM Novaliches. Followed by the DCP grand showcase at Venice Grand Canal on October 22, 2022. The grand event will be on October 28, 2022 in partnership with Okada Manila.
This event is for the benefit of the FAME Foundation headed by Atty. Maggie Garduque - a celebrity lawyer to the stars. The purpose is to support the people in the fashion and events industry that have been affected by the current situation, especially the photographers, videographers, models, HMUA and the people behind the production.
Manila International Fashion Week is produced by Sir George Salon (Headed by Direk Larry Asistin), Ganap International Magazine (Headed by John Guarnes and Bench Bello) and White Canvas Events Co. (headed by Yen David).
