Taragalte Stockholm
Taragalte Stockholm is a new Swedish/Moroccan brand inspired by Moroccan and Berber cultural heritage and taking inspiration from the flamboyant colors of Stockholm. The brand philosophy is that every woman deserves a unique creative outfit, complimenting her beauty. The brand’s name is inspired by Taragalte, a region in the south of Morocco; known for its incredibly beautiful scenery and artisan craft. The brand on the other hand, has very distinctive design and colors that embody Swedish design. The color selection is inspired by Stockholm colorful architecture. A unique and custom collection that is handmade and 100% Moroccan products. Leather, wool carpet, Berber jewelry, silver, cowrie shells, and coral are included. Our products are made by local Moroccan artisans and women, in an ethical and ecological way.
The brand was born from a collaboration between Imane Belmkaddem, a passionate fashion enthusiast and CEO& Founder of the Stockholm international fashion fair and In-ter-art Events & Communication. Which is an annual fashion event at the museum of the history of Stockholm. That aims to promote designers from all over the world, and showcase cultures and international fashion in Sweden. The foundation of the taragalte festival consists of unique music and art festivals in the Taragalte region in southern Morocco.
Imane has been passionate about art and fashion since childhood, she loves to wear unique things and to be different by creating her own style. She is inspired by her mom, who is a renowned painter in Morocco and loves fashion also. Her late paternal grandmother lived in Paris and embodied all the beauty of Parisian ladies. In which Imane inherited the style inspired by her jewelry, accessories, clothes, and style. Imane lived in several countries. Such as Morocco, (her home country) which she left for 10 years to go to Canada. In Canada, she studied communications and media; where she acquired various experiences in event management, in addition to being a radio and TV host. Imane moved to Sweden 7 years ago, in which she fell in love with Stockholm where she was able to realize her dreams and started several exciting professional endeavors. One of Imane’s many strengths is always having creative ideas for unique designs that could make the person wearing it feel unique and original.
I think social media now plays a huge role in the fashion industry, especially during the pandemic. It's the best way to network and promote your brand, all over the world.

Gnana
Born in 2017, as a sole person company, created for women who seek comfort, simplicity, versatility, empowerment and a dose of personality. Gnana is a studio founded by Floriana Sandu, as a personal approach towards a global change.
We are all about high quality limited edition, modern pieces all with a reduced environmental cost.
We stand for an ethical production, a sustainable and local infrastructure, produced in small stocks or backorder. By using only natural & cruelty free, upcycled or locally woven fabrics. 100% of our products are manufactured in Romania, in family owned ateliers or well established factories. Built on trust and friendship, our collaborations are all about transparency and quality.
Sustainability is core to our work, a journey and adventure, we believe in and try to stay committed with every piece.
Inspired by childhood freedom and the '90s in the east. Memories from freedom collection gather under one artistic direction. All the values of the brand, naturalness, versatility and craftsmanship. Minimalist in cuts, contrasting through shapes and fabric choices, the collection brings back the universe of the '90s in the east, an era of living the dreams built under oppression.
A place of final freedom.
Tiny tops and strappy dresses in vibrant colors were filling the streets and open air parties; while women thriving after the fall of communism were rocking their power suits.
Seen through the eyes of a child, it all seemed a joyful tragedy, full of individualism, art and hope, like today.
Fashion is not an island, it's a response. In a digital era, more and more brands are moving online; while the old way of doing business is slowly decreasing. Fully digital brands seem to be the future of fashion. With a more sustainable approach. In addition to a meaningful message, no overstocks to deal with and no shops to manage. Digital brands are the new shape of fashion. Social media is the key player in this equation, making communication, feedback, and customer-brand interaction easy and fast. After months in lockdown, online was a saving boat for most brands. Social media being the visual medium we used to communicate with our followers and customers. Giving with one hand and talking with the other. Social media is the easiest way to communicate, the perfect visual incubator and the medium that makes the whole internet a competition.

Aliya Kalieva
Unfortunately I don't have my brand yet, but I can tell you about myself. My name is Aliya Kalieva. I’m 23 years old. I am a designer from Kyrgyzstan. Since 2014, I have studied fashion design in college and received my bachelor's degree at KGUSTA IIP. In 2020, I graduated from University and released a fashion collection under the direction of Irina Iliushenko called “Poppies of the Pamirs”. This collection was my thesis.
The concept of the collection is based on the idea of the need to stimulate cultural education. As a result of spiritual development, that will be based on the desire for meaningful beauty. Filled with folk traditions, individuality and care for the environment.
The urgent task in 2020 was saving resources all over the world. Therefore, eco-friendly design became the basis for creating clothing. Models that will be relevant, comfortable, multifunctional and in demand for several seasons. Of every age and body type.
The clothing is made in a modern and ethnic style based on the use of natural and traditional materials. The use of traditional and simple cut of the Kyrgyz costume and ornaments are styled based on the combinatorial method. Through the use of typed elements (modules) when creating a whole form. By combining parts that are proportional divisions within the basic form. As well as using techniques of permutation, insertions, grouping and organization of rhythms. The nature of the Pamirs became the creative sources. The contrast of the mountain landscape due to climate conditions manifest itself in the selection of materials with different characteristics and functions of biological origin. Such as wool processed into wool, natural silk, linen and silver.
The prototype of the image of the nomadic people in the Pamir mountains is a bright red flower - poppy. It personifies both beauty and endurance, which is now relevant in conceptual fashion. Therefore, the bioform of the analogue was transformed into stylized ornaments based on traditional ones, in the texture of materials, their color scheme and in the design of the forms of costumes and their individual parts. Ornaments in the form of a poppy made of wool and silk are used to decorate the upper garments, like a pattern on silver buttons, and in accessories.
When creating the collection, traditional techniques of an environmentally friendly nature were used. For example, wool felting, hand weaving and embroidery. That helped by connecting parts of a costume by hand and using experimental mounting on loops and buttons were developed. Canvases of different textures were combined with crinkled silk and wool. Also, raw edges to achieve aesthetics. On top of the canvas, they were supplemented with sewn-on rhythmic details made of wool and silk. Figured stitching completed the complex composition, repeating the pattern of crinkled silk on wool creating ornamental motives. The combinatorial method was applied in the rearrangement and dismantling of parts and elements, creating new variants of shapes and proportions. The length and width of which can be adjusted depending on the season and purpose. All upper products of the collection are double-sided with different experimental textures and colors for greater practicality and variability of images and comfort.
The result of the work was a collection of models that once collected the positive characteristics of sustainable and conceptual design with an emphasis on innovation. By reminding modern people that they are inextricably linked with the environment. The culture of people in this world and the need to preserve the traditions of creation.
I think social media plays a big role in fashion today. Since we used to learn about fashion from magazines and TV. Now we can watch live shows of different designers from different countries from the internet. That's why fashion began to change quickly. A large number of people became interested in fashion. But it is most important for everybody to have their own style. We can offer our vision options for beauty and style. Each person chooses something of their own. Many try to stand out. That’s why the fashion world has become so diverse. Earlier the main cities of fashion were Milan, Paris and New York. Now thanks to the internet and competitions like FNL network and IDFW, we can know about designs from every country with their unique ideas and culture which makes fashion even brighter and richer.

Nurbek Kaadyrkylov
My name is Nurbek Kadyrkulov and I am a beginning designer. Since childhood, I was interested in art and collecting various gemstones and observing various forms of plants. I graduated from the Institute of Innovative Professions under KSUCTA named after N. Isanova with a specialty in Clothing Design in 2020.
When designing my "Ne On" collection, I was following the same idea. My role model was a modern unisex businessman who lives in a busy megapolis. Living in a busy urban city, it is very important to be as mobile and free as a bird in order to be efficient and keep up with the daily tasks. Which then reflected on the design of my collection.
Hybrid clothes such as a raincoat-poncho and anorak-poncho are very comfortable and light. They are multifunctional by being transformable and unisized, that ensures their longevity when wearing under different conditions. They can be used as outerwear and as a blanket at the same time by covering the entire body.
The long sleeves and coats are made of organic flax, which provides comfort and warmth. The design includes creative stitches which resemble urban road lines and has additional functional pads for certain parts of the body.
Social media is the only platform which connects different societies from around the world in real time. People share their news, creativeness and success via social media. Social media can be also used as a platform to trade a variety of goods and services. Social networking plays a significant role in the fashion industry and in modern life. In the digital era, each brand tries to use the internet to cover broader auditoriums for their products and services. Information spreads almost instantly via networks, in a matter of seconds. It helps people to follow fashion trends online and track the news. I strongly believe that social media is a great environment for expressing your ideas and creativity. It also can be used as a great leverage when promoting your products to broader consumers.

Patrick Cupid
Tell me a bit about your brand?
I love both history and science fiction. I think this gives me a holistic view of the world. I
recognized how the world has progressed. My brand has fused different style sensibilities in
response to a new world that needed new clothing.
I understand that a fluid world with fluid people requires clothing that adapts,
expresses new truths, and speaks to a new future. My latest collection combines the
sophisticated philosophies of men’s tailoring and references pop culture through different time
periods that reflect how we live today.
This new look embodies the tailoring of luxury fashion with comfort and movement. Luxurious
fabrics and rich colors work together in a way that is sexy and sensual. Patrick Cupid is a lot of
to design and to wear.
What’s the story behind this collection? Who/ what inspired it?
The Fall/winter 2021 collection is called “Paradigm”. PA RA DIME
It hails the vestige of deshabillé and bohémienism composed in sumptuous textiles and color.
The collection has elements of leisurewear and formal attire to produce a look that abstracts
traditional dress codes. "Paradigm" is a poignant contemporary collection mirroring an emerging
sensibility in a fashion with influences of progressive street style.
I am a people watcher. It is the people on the street that tell you what fashion needs and wants.
It’s wonderful to interpret where style is going in this way. You can see exactly how time repeats
itself and how it has evolved. Paradigm is the thread connecting these ideologies.
What role do you think social media plays in fashion today?
People are more involved in fashion now. Social media has allowed fashion to be more inclusive
to the world at large. Fashion week is now accessible to anyone. This is good.
I don’t think social media influences style as much as it creates trends. It is a tool that can help
brands gain awareness but it is not what makes a brand successful.

The Story behind this collection (The Ulap Doyo Fashion)
Ulap Doyo means woven textile made from the natural fiber of DOYO leaves (Doyo - curculigolatifolia leaves) is an original textile product of the Dayak Benuaq tribe. Jess Reyes Jimenez
Tell me a bit about your brand
I am a designer influenced by my multicultural background. Having been raised in the U.S.A and Mexico; with a Peruvian father and Mexican mother has allowed me to create a new narrative that is my own while also tied to my history and diverse background. It is the fusion of these cultures, reflections of displacement and detachment, and my identity as a Peruvian Mexican American that influences my designs.
From these experiences form the silhouettes, fabric manipulation techniques, textiles, and systems of dressing. Which ties in my appreciation for clothing made carefully and thoughtfully. I find quality in craftsmanship and its embedment in modern design. The garments grant the wearer a romantic presence for ever-evolving women that are continually finding themselves. They embrace creativity and the desire to move throughout the world with graceful fluidity and power.
What’s the story behind this collection? Who/ what inspired it?
For his collection, I was particularly drawn by the garments used for theatrical performances within the district of the Conchucos, Peru where there is a visible fusion of indigenous and Spanish culture. I collected images that were taken by a friend of my father throughout his career as a photographer. The photos give light to centuries of history and tradition which have inspired me and have allowed me to reflect on my identity, as I encounter feelings of detachment from being torn between multiple places with not one to call ‘home’.
I incorporated various fabric manipulation techniques that embody the many textures of the ornamental wear and layering on the theatrical costumes. The textures created by the fabric manipulation on the raw silk fabrics inform the shape as they wrap and layer around the body. Silk dupioni and silk faille were used for their ability to hold structure and soft shine quality, chiffon and silk linen blends were incorporated to contrast the stiffness and add a romantic feel.
What role do you think social media plays in fashion today?
I think that social media in fashion plays an important role in that brands can highlight their own unique voice and connect with those that can relate to that voice. It is also changing the way consumers buy fashion. By being able to instantly save a product that you like while scrolling or having the option to visit the shopping site in one tap has definitely made it a simpler process.

Posh Me'Ke
Tell me a bit about your brand? and What’s the story behind this collection? Who/ what inspired it?
The name and the concept of the brand are inspired by my sister and me. Having the love for classic staple garments; the Posh Me’Ke brand took that idea mixed it with Edge (Morgen E) meets conservative (Kimberly E.)
Developed in 2015, but launched in 2017, the goal was to create garments that are versatile, in that importance was placed on women being independent, powerful but fashionable. This is based on my lifestyle of wearing many different hats. In making my vision a reality, I created and designed a concept of a “backless skirt”- this garment is a conversation piece that adds confidence to the Posh Me’Ke Woman. My customer loves classic, simple, and unique garments that could be worn in various settings. Posh Me’Ke’s garments are structured, chic, and timeless.
What role do you think social media plays in fashion today?
Social Media plays a huge role in fashion today. Designers are able to be transparent with the process of designing and making garments. Social media allows consumers to take a tour in the designer’s life which creates a personable atmosphere.

Siranis Fashion
Tell me a bit about your brand?
Based in Toronto, Canada, Sirani's Fashion was established in 2017 by Fatim Sylla.
Fatim Sylla traces her love for African fashion back to her childhood when she used to vacation on the Ivory Coast. With the expansion of Africa globally, Fatim Sylla saw an opportunity to bring a part of her culture to Toronto by designing her own collection inspired by African prints and occidental designs. From then, Fatim Sylla started her journey collaborating with tailors in Africa and Toronto to bring the 1st Sirani's Fashion collection to life.
Sirani's Fashion's mission is to bring African fashion into every home in Canada and beyond. With a worldwide customer base, Fatim continues to expand her product offering.
Sirani's Fashion core values are:
Authenticity: Staying true to African fashion
Versatility: Collection that offers diverse styling options for diverse styling needs
Diversity: From casual to high fashion offerings
What’s the story behind this collection? Who/ what inspired it?
This collection is very different from what I did previously. I have used fabrics from my country that are very traditional African designs called bogolan (mud cloth). This has been very popular in France lately and I wanted to bring this to North America. The earthy tones resonate really well with my audience. I also love statement pieces and I can say that every single piece of my collection is statement pieces, as well as pieces of jewelry.
What role do you think social media plays in fashion today?
I think it's by far the number one media channel for fashion nowadays. There is so much you can do to showcase your collection. Between the photos and the videos. It's probably the most efficient way to reach people at a reasonable cost. With more and more social media platforms becoming available such as Tik Tok, it will be hard to avoid social media.
