On 24-25-26 May 2019 was our first big event held in various locations in The Netherlands.
A foundation striving fore more diversity and equality on the runway.
It is no secret that the fashion industry lacks diversity. Therefore we organize a fashion event at least once a year to not only showcase amazing designs but with the help of our models to show more diversity.
Diversity Fashion Week stands for all shades,shapes and for models who have a disability. We embrace all kinds of beauty.
On 24th of May the opening took place in the amazing Westcord Fashion Hotel where we gave designers the opportunity to tell more about their collection and to network in the amazing SKYYBAR with a beautiful view of Amsterdam.
The talented DJ Ash El Rey made sure the music was right and provided sizzling beats for 3 days long. A few designers that participated were Olga from Kidraws and Imaginative Fashion all the way from Spain and the amazing new line of Chatilla van Grinsven in collaboration with B.howard called 'Equality Wear'.
On 25th of May the amazing kids and teen show took place in Rijswijk.
On this day there were international and national designers with special kids collections.
Guests had to come in all white to blend in with our theme for our event which was 'Fairy Tales'.
One of the youngest designers were 2 sisters of 10 and 14 years old who made a special new collection for our show called 'DAM DESIGNS'.
All the models are from dma_models who all have amazing features.
For the last day on 26th May we had a special dresscode set up called 'bal masque' where we made all the magical dreams come true.
15 international and national designers from Gambia, Senegal, Spain, Morocco and America came all the way for the most epic show EVER seen in the amazing location the Arendshoeve
'The Garden of Amsterdam'. Special host of the night Jorgen Raymann a well known comedian and
TV host presented the show in style. We started the show with a amazing performance from
'originals entertainment' a talented brassband from Almere and won 'battle of the drums 2018'.
The magic flue throughout the night with several acts and before we knew it the fairy tale ended for now... as we strive to be the iconic fashion event for the most diversity runway ever and become an inspiration for other organizations to do the same.
