Diversity Fashion Week foundation was founded in 2018 by model Sensemielja Letitia Sumter. The foundation says it is creating a platform for (young) talents, designers and models who do not fall into the 'standard' image. “Our foundation represents diversity in the fashion industry and our goal is to become the iconic show for diversity on the catwalk and in the fashion industry.
Our mission is to show the world that beauty is not in one standard, but radiates by embracing our various unique beauties. We think it is important that everyone feels represented, especially in the media and in our current fashion world. It is undeniable that there is a lack of diversity and unity in this industry and there are so many talented people who deserve a platform to be seen and recognized. ”
