DELILA MATARA
Pennsylvania
November 2016 - Teen Model of the Month
My name is Delila Matara and I am 14 years old. I started pursuing a career in modeling last year when I had the chance to be one of the models at the Philadelphia Small Business Fashion Week.
Since then, I was able to take part in numerous charity events, fashion shows, editorial print and commercials. I go to a lot of auditions in NYC but since I am only 5.3" tall it is hard for me to get chosen to walk in a high end fashion runway show when the height requirement is 5.7". My height does not stop me to follow my dream and so far I was fortunate to be part of: Philadelphia Small Business Fashion Week 2015 & 2016; Belmar Fashion Show; The Art Gala Fashion Show; Brand Ambassador for Philadelphia Teen Fashion Week and Atlantic City Fashion Week 2016.
I had the honor to model for great local designers such as: Debra Sterling, Clothagami, Regina McWhite, Lil B, Tied by Dede, Traqufan Shoes, Josefa DaSilva, Linda Style Collection, Classy Royalty, DaJon, PSA Boutique, Majeeda Mona Apparel, Kaja Couture Lingerie, M.U.Attitude, Voguel London Boutique, Oroginal Stush, Love Lace, Traci Lynn Collection, The Black Jewelry Box and Punch Line and many more.
My acting career started couple of years ago when Anthony Horton and William Keith Sgrillo gave me the opportunity to be part of their independent movie called "The Drive". Anthony and Keith told me that I have a lot of talent and that I should go into acting. Since that day, I was fortunate to work side by side with Tea Leone, Bruce Wayne, Joey King, Michael Cane and producer M. Night Shyamalan.
When I am not following my passion for fashion and acting, I loves to write poems. I am a freshman in high school maintaining my academic status as an honor roll student along with Student of the Month recognition.
My passion is to travel and see the world while helping people along the way. Being part of the acting and modeling world is very rewarding to me because I gets to meet new people from different backgrounds.
My future plans is to become an English and Spanish teacher and be able to use my fashion and acting career as a source of being part of many charity events.
