TBWE reveals EMI Award recipients, “Black Fashion Week” Show, Little Miss “Happy” Head Beauty Pageant, workshops and more!
HOUSTON, TX--- Visionary and Trichologist, Leola Anifowoshe, proudly invites the general public to this year’s first Texas Black Women’s Expo (TBWE) on Saturday, August 12, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to7:30 p.m. at the NRG Center. With the goal to empower entrepreneurial women, TBWE bids to take business experiences to the next level, while providing a blueprint for profitable businesses. TBWE will exclusively feature Hollywood actress and businesswoman honoree comedienne Torrei Hart, this year’s Education, Motivation, and Inspiration (EMI) awardees, a fashion presentation by Black Fashion Week, the annual Little Miss “Happy” Head Beauty Pageant, with guest speakers Clerenda McGrady, Dr. Chyna Bethley, Charlie Macol, Cheryl Wood, Tony Harris Taylor and many more!
With over 30 years of brand-building experience, Anifowoshe is known for evolving entrepreneurs to their greatest potential. TBWE is designed to patronize the strength of black women owning businesses and create a direct impact on black economics.
“The Texas Black Women’s Expo is where Black Women will be found in incredible numbers highlighting the latest trends, amazing new products and services, while we enlighten, inform and empower each other all under one roof” states Anifowoshe. “Our mission this year is the 100,000 S.I.S.T.E.R.S Outreach; Success In Sisters Through Entrepreneurial Revitalization Strategies.” One of the Black owned events highlighted within the expo is the Black Fashion Week Runway events founded by Melody Boykin of Black Fashion America LLC, whose goal is to highlight and promotes the creative talent and economic empowerment of Black Designers nationwide, thus sharing the same goal of that of Anifowoshe.

This year’s Black Fashion Week Runway event promises to be even more exciting as its previous event in Houston,TX. The show will take place at 12pm and feature talented designers who are savvy black business women including Brick Malone of Chicago and award winning Houston born Tanya Ivory Mayes , founder of The Ivory Collection who studied design at the University of North Texas. Tanya birthed her brand in 1991 and has since then been featured in NewYork Fashion week and popular fashion publications such as WWD. This is runway event is one of the most groundbreaking fashion shows not to miss during the First Texas Black Women’s Expo celebrating black women entrepreneurs.
