Forty years of Independence for the Bahama Islands.
The Bahamas turns 40 and we were in Nassau for some of the celebration that started a few weeks ago before the anniversary date on July 10, 2013.
Crowds of Bahamian lined the street for the changing of the guards at the governments house, while manufacturers of straw goods, oil painting and home made jam along with fashion by K.J. Strakan Collection display their crafts pool side at the Sheraton, Nassau Beach Hotel, Cable Beach Nassau
Under the theme of Everything Bahamian, David Strachan and Mr. Newbold, both managers of the Sheraton Nassau Beach Hotel, host an all Bahamian Expo for local vendors that took place a few weeks prior to their Independence Celebration and will continue each and every Friday throughout the summer for their guests to experience authentic Bahamian handy crafts.
World Fashion Media News and Kevin Strakan of Fifth Ave. Models, Nassau, Bahamas and Fifth Ave Photographer Kurtz Richie bring fashion alive to you as models Latia Glinton and Gabrielle Kaczkurkin showcased vendors crafts in beautiful Cable Beach at the Sheraton Hotel Grand Patio. Items included beautiful custom jewelry, handmade straw items, wood craft and paintings.
Drummers filled the vendors area producing rolling rhythmical beats on traditional goombay goatskin drums.
